Aperus "Hinterland" Released
Hinterland has finally been released and is available here at the Remanence Archive and at Atmoworks.com. I had originally hoped to put this out on cd3 in the style of an Amplexus release but found the running time to be about two minutes too long to fit on the disk. After trimming material here and there and not liking the results, I decided to go with a conventional CD instead. Of course this meant completely reworking the artwork and it left plenty of open space to play with so... (months go by)... I added a data section which includes a photo gallery of pictures from Chaco Canyon New Mexico and additional music in mp3 format. Here's the official description of the EP:
"After the release of 'tumbleweed obfuscated by camera failure,' the original impetus for that project felt somehow incomplete. Numerous versions of songs in various stages of development still remained which, to me, made a valuable contribution to the whole. Serving as an outlet for this material, 'hinterland' gathers these alternate versions together with an additional environmental sketch and presents them in a different context.
Included with this release are various photographs taken from Chaco Canyon, New Mexico - this incredible site served as inspiration for the tracks 'Echo Canyon' and 'Vanishing Terrain'. It is my hope that these photos provide a strong visual component for the music presented here."
